Our Technology
We’ve been doing this for a while!
Our patented process was originally developed for the ad-tech industry to assist companies in targeting specific consumer markets. In March 2020, the technology was repurposed for the COVID-19 crisis. Our platform allows for the collection of billions of digital location identifiers, creating a record of devices and where they’ve been. We then can easily determine the other devices with whom they’ve crossed paths over the programmed time period.
We do not use carrier data, credit card activity, social media or cookies. Our technology is HIPAA compliant and we use the same type of location identifiers routinely used by Google, Apple, Amazon, FaceBook, and many of the Fortune 500 companies.
A virtual diary
Let’s be honest… it’s quite challenging for people to remember every place and every interaction over the previous 14 days. But it’s likely impossible to know anything about the random strangers with whom they’ve crossed paths. By using our self-service platform, the technology creates a virtual diary of where mobile phones have traveled in previous days and months. We then determine who else was also at those same locations on the same day. In the final step of this process, we send exposure notifications to those who may be at risk. The notifications are sent via:
- Digital display messaging on their mobile devices
- Digital display messaging on their home computers
- Customized direct mail to their home addresses.
